This is a step in the right direction.  Last year I sowed all my seeds directly into the soil.  About two weeks later 6 inches of snow fell and decimated all my melons and cuc’s…  I had the grow light setup in the 3 season room over winter to hold my Bonsai Tree, Snap Dragons, Aloe and a few others from last summer.  This year I am planning on more than doubling my planting space so some of this stuff had to be started inside. (Above: Onions, Hot Peppers, Edamame (soy) and Carrots, for starters…

Last years plot…  takes quite a bit of shade. I will hold our lettuce here again this year but I’m establishing a plot about twice its size out toward the rear center of the yard to cash in on pure, unadulterated Sunshine…  this has some third year asparagus which will be ripe for the grill mid-summer and hopefully a Loganberry will return that was begun last year.
